Happy Furmint Day!
This grape variety, commonly found in the Hungarian dessert wine Tokaji, is called "Šipon" in Slovenia. Supposedly, the name “sipon” comes from the nickname Napoleon’s soldiers gave to this wine: “Si c’est bon” for ‘it’s so good’.

The Mea Pet Nat is on our Bin End list at a banging price, while stocks last.
Pet nat, meaning "pétillant naturel" is a wine that finished the first ferment off in the bottle with a crown cap closure. The crown cap closure means that the remaining CO2 created by the final stages of fermentation stay in the bottle, creating a cloudy, lightly sparkling wine.

Expect notes of expect apple, lemon and pear in this light fresh wine.

We'll be pouring @campbellswines at the @wineaustralia tasting at The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh tomorrow!

An AW staff favourite is their limited release Campbell's Durif.

"Our Rutherglen Durif, made from the original Durif of Rutherglen clone, is a rare variety that flourishes in Rutherglen. Durif is renowned for its powerful tannins and usually requires some bottle age prior to drinking. However, our Rutherglen Durif has been carefully nurtured, through the use of sophisticated winemaking techniques, to produce a wine able to be enjoyed while young." - Julie Campbell
